Builders Bootcamp 1.0: four Saturdays that kicked things off

In March 2025, we ran the very first Builders Bootcamp, four Saturdays in Rotterdam designed to test a simple belief: when you give ambitious founders a studio-style process, structure, and community, they can move from scattered ideas to real momentum fast.

Recap
Business idea scope
Why did we start it? Because too many founders get stuck at the start. They have energy, maybe even a concept, but no clear way to validate if they’re onto something.
The Bootcamp is our way of sharing the studio approach: how we move from a blank page to a validated idea, how we test assumptions early, and how we turn conversations into clarity.
Ten founders walked in on day one. Eight graduates left with sharper ideas, early validation, and a first version of their pitch.
Here’s what those four weeks looked like.
Week 1 - Ideation I: defining the problem space
No slides about vision, no daydreaming about unicorn status, we started with the basics.
- What problem space are you stepping into?
- Where is the real opportunity?
- How do you talk to potential customers without pitching, and actually listen?
By the end of the day, founders had scoped an opportunity, mapped an initial Ideal Customer Profile, and left with a challenge: line up discovery calls for week two.
Week 2 - Ideation 2: value proposition and differentiation
With customer conversations underway, we shifted to what makes an idea stand out.
- How do you turn what you’re hearing into a clear value proposition?
- What really sets you apart, and what’s just noise?
- How far ahead can you imagine the venture vision?
This was where founders started to see their ideas tighten, simplify, and sharpen.

Week 3 - Validation: hero features and the first go-to-market hack
This was the turning point.
- Founders moved from theory to designing “hero features”, the one or two things a product must do so well it makes people say “Wait, really?”
- They learned that “if you build it, they will come” doesn’t work, and created their first GTM hack instead: a scrappy, low-cost tactic to reach early users.
- They defined their first version (V1), what to actually build first.
This week felt like things clicking into place.
Week 4 - Pitch: crafting the story
We finished with storytelling and pitching, not as performance, but as structure.
- Why the customer is the hero, not the founder.
- How to build momentum slide by slide.
- How to cut jargon and get to the point.
Founders ripped up their decks, rebuilt them, and ended the Bootcamp standing up to deliver pitches with real stakes.
What founders said
Juan Pablo: “My experience in the bootcamp was really good, everything really well organized. You could notice that even before we started, with all the resources Builders provided us. I’d strongly recommend it to any entrepreneur who wants a hands-on experience in problem validation and ideation.”
Susanne: “The AI Bootcamp from Builders Studio exceeded all my expectations. The team’s knowledge and hands-on experience were evident in every session. The way they structured the program made even complex topics accessible and practical. One of the biggest takeaways for me was the emphasis on validation, not just learning what it is, but understanding why it’s essential and how to apply it effectively.”

Why it mattered
By the second Saturday, our office was buzzing, whiteboards covered in scribbles, sticky notes everywhere, founders muttering about “those damn interviews” as they grabbed coffee.
By the fourth, they were pitching solutions grounded in actual conversations and insights, not just imagination.
Eight founders crossed the finish line, and Bootcamp 1.0 proved something important: with the right structure, momentum builds fast.
What’s next
Bootcamp 2.0 launches later this year.
If you want to spend four Saturdays the way this first cohort did, defining a problem space, validating it with real people, designing something worth building, and learning to pitch it — keep an eye on the Bootcamp page or reach out.
The next one is coming. Will you be there?

Building a venture is hard enough. Especially in a market where fewer, bigger funding rounds are the trend and valuations are deflated.
